Complete guide to duplicating content with Nixa Duplicate.
Single Post Duplication
Using Row Actions
Navigate to Content
Go to Posts, Pages, or any custom post type list in your admin.
Hover Over Item
Move your mouse over the post you want to duplicate to reveal row actions.
Choose Action
Duplicate creates a copy and returns to the list.
Duplicate & Edit creates a copy and opens the editor.
From the Editor
While editing a post, you can also duplicate from the post actions panel (coming in future update).
Bulk Duplication
Select Posts
Use the checkboxes in the post list to select multiple items.
Choose Bulk Action
From the "Bulk Actions" dropdown at the top, select Duplicate.
Apply
Click Apply. All selected posts will be duplicated as drafts.
Working with Custom Post Types
Nixa Duplicate automatically works with all public custom post types:
- WooCommerce Products
- Portfolio items
- Testimonials
- Any custom post type registered with
public => true
Understanding the Duplicate
When you duplicate a post:

| Title | Original title + suffix (e.g., "My Post (Copy)") |
| Slug | Auto-generated (unique) |
| Status | Draft (or your configured default) |
| Author | Current user (you) |
| Date | Current date/time |
Tips & Best Practices
- Review before publishing — Duplicates are drafts by default so you can review and modify
- Update the slug — The duplicate gets a unique slug, but you may want to customize it
- Check internal links — If your content has internal links, they'll point to the original
- Use for templates — Create a "template" post and duplicate it for consistent formatting
Create a private "Template" post with your standard formatting, then duplicate it whenever you need a new post with that structure.
